Book Wrap Up: March 2016

LINKS LEAD TO GOODREADS PAGES

Twisted Bond (Holly Woods Files #1) by Emma Hart – ★★★★ – Adult Contemporary Humor Romantic Suspense

All The Glory by Elle Casey – ★★★★ – Contemporary Young Adult Romantic Mystery

I guessed what had occurred quite early on, but it’s an amazing book and watching as Katy unravelled the true story.  I loved Katy’s and Jason’s friendship and relationship.  Also Katy’s name is amazing; Katy Mary Magdalina Guckenberger.

Ruby Red (The Ruby Red Trilogy #1) by Kerstin Gier (Translated by Anthea Bell) – ★★★ – Young Adult Paranormal Time Travel Romance

Sapphire Blue (The Ruby Red Trilogy #2) by Kerstin Gier (Translated by Anthea Bell) – ★★★ – Young Adult Paranormal Time Travel Romance

Emerald Green (The Ruby Red Trilogy #3) by Kerstin Gier (Translated by Anthea Bell) – ★★★ – Young Adult Paranormal Time Travel Romance

While I didn’t rate the Ruby Red Trilogy very highly this was due to an annoying amount of exclamation marks and a few other things that just didn’t work well for me writing wise..  The characters and storyline are amazing, and personally all the issues could be marked down to translation errors and a different language style.  If not for this all three would probably be rated 4-5 stars.  It’s an amazing series and I highly suggest it to well.. Everyone!

Wreaked (Blind Man’s Alibi #1) by Sarah Grimm – ★★★★★ – Adult Contemporary Music Romance (TW: Illness/Death)

The Shadow Queen (Ravenspire #1) by C.J. Redwine – ★★★★★ – Young Adult Fantasy Fairy Tale Re-Telling Romance

I thought this book was amazing! I love the addition of Dragons and her powers are EPIC it was great.  I do feel like a lasting relationship between the characters may be doomed due to their roles and destinations.  Maybe if the kingdoms combined?

Cruel Beauty (Cruel Beauty Universe #1) by Rosamund Hodge – ★★ – Young Adult Fantasy Fairy Tale Re-Telling Romance  [SKIM READ]

I did finish this book.  I also did skim read it.  I just didn’t really like the characters, I don’t know.. The ending was slightly confusing, but then everything was resolved very quickly and it kind of felt rushed and not thought through?

Reign of Shadows (Reign of Shadows #1) by Sophie Jordan – ★★★ – Young Adult Fantasy Romance

The ending confused me a little bit (probably because it was done in the POV of a blind person), definitely a cliffhanger.  I actually love reading books when the main POV is blind.  You get to skip the unnecessary descriptions that go on for pages.  I basically didn’t even know what Luna and Fowler looked like for the most part it was up to how I interpreted it.  And I didn’t need to suffer through three pages or whatever about the trees.  If I was happier with the ending it would be 4 stars, as it stands 3.5.

Adrenaline (Speed #2) by Kelly Elliott – ★★★ – Adult Contemporary Romance, Sports/Car Racing

A Study in Charlotte (Charlotte Holmes #1) by Brittany Cavallaro – ★★★★ – Young Adult Contemporary Mystery Romance Re-Telling

I absolutely loved A Study In Charlotte, I thought it was a compelling story and I wasn’t able to guess who the villain was or the connections! It was everything.  Holmes and Watson are amazing as a team! I can’t wait for the next book!

Pucked (Pucked #1) by Helena Hunting – ★★★ – New Adult Sports Erotic Romance Humor
