Do you remember how you developed your love for reading?
In grade 9 (I was 14-15) we had to read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins for school and that started me on reading again. I don’t think I had read a book before that (except compulsory school books) since I was about 9 or 10. After that I just started devouring books left right and centre. Both my parents are avid readers so I grew up surrounded by books.
Where do you usually read?
Usually in my bed, I love reading outside but I can’t read in my own yard (we have attention seeking puppies) and I don’t like going to the park or beach by myself but I don’t like reading in front of others. So my bed is pretty much the main place I read.
Do you prefer to read one book at a time or several at once?
I used to do three at a time (can’t remember why) but I’ve been reading one at a time lately. Sometimes I’ll stop halfway through a book, read another one then pick it back up, but yeah.
What is your favorite genre?
Romance. I’ll pretty much pick it up if it’s romance. YA/NA/Adult, Paranormal, Contemporary, Suspense, Fantasy. If it has Romance I’ll be ten times more likely to read it. Though I do prefer YA/NA since I relate more to the characters in those age groups.
What genre will you not read?
Probably Horror…. Thrillers… Spooky books like that. I love me a bit of crime and espionage.. But I hate scary things so they don’t live on my shelves.
Do you have a favourite book?
Not really.. I mean at the moment I have a series I’ve been loving and recommending to everyone but I don’t have a single favorite…. Maybe if I had ever read Pride and Prejudice from cover to cover (I’ve read the whole book, just not consecutively) I would say that but I technically haven’t so I feel it wouldn’t be truthful.
What is the worst book you’ve ever read?
Honestly I don’t think I have an answer to this.. If I don’t like a book I typically don’t pick it up/finish it..
What is the biggest book you’ve ever read?
I don’t think I’ve read one over 600 pages until recently when I finished A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. But I could be wrong.
What is the last book you bought?
The UK paperback edition of Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard: The Hammer of Thor. I have two hardcover editions in the mail but I didn’t want to wait that long.
Which do you prefer, buying books or library books?
I’m self confessed book hoarder, so buying books for sure. Plus my library doesn’t have many YA/NA options.
What are you reading now?
Nothing at the moment. I tend to read books in one sitting.
What are the disadvantages of being a book lover?
It’s expensive, takes up a lot of bedroom space, makes me a bit (read:very) of a loner. For me personally I also tend to forget about food/sleep/hydration/hygiene so that’s definitely a disadvantage…
