I’ve been reading some amazing books lately, I’m definitely out of my reading slump, and I’m working on my blog writing slump, everything this month is just lining up nicely and I’m so happy to say that I’ve completed my Goodreads Reading Challange! I had to bump it down twice throughout the year because of my previous reading slump, so the fact that I’ve completed it with two months still left in the year is something I’m really proud of even though it’s only 100 books.

I think when I read this for the first time I didn’t really read it – either that or I’ve grown as a reader. When I read it back in 2016 I rated it two stars now it’s up there at 4, possibly a 4.3 if such a thing were doable.
Reyes is stubborn.
It started out a bit slow for me, but I pushed through and the rest was pretty great 🙂
Dramatic sobs took over my body while reading the last few chapters (or something) of this book.
Best Served Cold by Emma Hart – ★★★★ – New Adult Contemporary Romance
Another new favourite, honestly I don’t think Emma Hart can do any wrong when it comes to rom-coms. At least in my opinion. Also, I loved the Miss-Fix-It easter-egg!
I skim read a few bits, but for the most part I really enjoyed this story and the world McDonald has created. I love the, not magic system, but the sylph system. And Heyou is adorable and I want to protect him at all costs. I really did enjoy this one – and while the blurbs of the other books in the series didn’t look as appealing and didn’t draw me in as this one did, I might still download the Kindle sample and check it out.
I love this – I love it so much.
It’s just such an incredible series; the world-building, the characters, the ‘issues’ that arise, the dynamics, the plot, the emotional trauma I’m being dragged through – it’s all done incredibly well and I highly recommend picking this series up if you love a good fantasy series, with a hint of insta-love (it’s there, trust me) and a sexy Warlord – oh and for your heart to be stabbed repeatedly after being ripped out of your chest. Yeah, if you want those four things this is totally the book for you. 💖😍😘
3.65 is a closer rating – there were some things I didn’t love but overall I really enjoyed the story and characters.
I can’t wait to see who Owens will write about next; I love this series, it hasn’t failed to make me smile like a loon, or laugh out loud, yet!
Well, the ending felt a bit disconnected, but the story was still good.
