John Stocco, a veteran media analyst and author of the New York Times bestseller “The Right Stuff” who previously worked for CNN and Fox News, has written a new book on the topic titled “The Richest 1 Percent” and titled “Why the Richest Don’t Want Us to Know.”
“It’s not about how much money the rich have, it’s about how little they have,” Stoccos book reads.
“I have a story to tell you about how the rich don’t want us to know about wealth inequality.”
Stoccos, who has written for CNN, CNBC, CNBC.com and Forbes, is a regular guest on “The O’Reilly Factor” and on the Fox News Channel.
His book, which is based on interviews he conducted with billionaires and top bankers, was released on Tuesday.
Stocco was a CNN analyst from 2009 to 2013, before leaving to become the vice president of the Institute for the Study of Labor at the University of Chicago, where he worked for more than 30 years.
He has also worked for the New Republic, the Washington Post and The Atlantic.
The book’s title comes from a line in a passage in Stoccs book that he says he’s never forgotten.
“I was in a room with some of the wealthiest people in the world,” he said.
“And they were saying, ‘Well, you can’t see what I’m seeing.
You can’t tell how much wealth there is in the United States.
And you can tell how little wealth there has been in the U.S. over the last 100 years.'””
And it really hit me, that they don’t care.
That they dont care.
Because they know that if they just say it, it will change.
And if it was just them, it wouldn’t change,” he added.
In his book, StocCo said the story of the rich, like that of the poor, is much the same.
The story of wealth is about how it’s distributed, and how that has been changing for the last few hundred years, Stolcs book states.
“And as you get older, as you become a more educated individual, as your educational level rises, you start to notice things are going the wrong way,” he wrote.
“In this book, I focus on the last 200 years.
In my view, it is important that the richest people understand how the world has been changed by wealth inequality over the past 200 years.”
Stoccos book is being released on Wednesday and will be followed by a series of interviews on “Hannity” on the conservative network.
