Deseret Books announced Monday that it has acquired the rights to publish the first edition of Book of Mormons.
Deseret Book Books will also begin publishing the book, which is the third in a series of three books that have been published in recent years.
The first two were published in 2013 by Deseret, which has an imprint in the United Kingdom and was acquired by a publishing company in 2014.
The third edition will be published by Descriptive Publishing.
Descriptives publisher Jeff Rieger said in a statement that the acquisition brings the total number of titles to 23.
Rieger added that he was honored to be asked to bring this book to Deseret’s fans.
He said the acquisition is the culmination of the long-term development of the book and the vision for a book that will serve as a model for Deseret children to learn about God and His Church.
Riesger said the purchase will help to ensure that Deseret can continue to support the Book of the Mormon through new books, and provide readers with a new and exciting experience.
He noted that the new book will be a more accessible and accessible experience for readers, and will also provide Deseret with new opportunities to develop the Book.
