How to buy a book on Amazon in the United States.
The US bookseller says it will not be accepting preorders for some titles and is limiting online orders to $99.
The online retailer has been criticised by some for a number of reasons.
The company is under fire from customers, who are concerned about their personal data being accessed.
Amazon says it’s working with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and has contacted some US states to clarify the rules.
“We have been contacted by the FTC to provide information about its process for accepting pre-orders and we are reviewing their request for comment,” Amazon said.
“If our process is not clear, please let us know so we can ensure we can provide the best service for our customers.”
The US is the world’s second largest book market, after China.
Amazon said it is also working with US state governments to help ease online book sales in states where the book is being sold.
In the US, the first 50 books on sale are free, and Amazon says it is making additional efforts to help people buy books in the meantime.
Amazon has also introduced a new feature that lets customers find out which books are available on a particular market before making an online purchase.
The US has a population of about 5.3 billion, and most people live in urban areas, according to the US Census Bureau.
